ప్రముఖ నిర్మాణ సంస్థ సితార ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్స్ ఫార్చ్యూన్ ఫోర్ సినిమాస్ తో కలిసి రూపొందించిన తాజా చిత్రం స్వాతిముత్యం. సూర్యదేవర నాగ వంశీ ఈ చిత్రానికి నిర్మాతగా వ్యవహరించారు. గణేష్, వర్ష బొల్లమ్మ జంటగా నటించిన ఈ చిత్రంతో లక్ష్మణ్ కె. కృష్ణ దర్శకుడిగా పరిచయమయ్యారు. దసరా కానుకగా అక్టోబర్ 5న విడుదలైన ఈ చిత్రం ప్రేక్షకులను విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకుంటోంది. వినోదభరితమైన కుటుంబ కథా చిత్రంగా రూపొందిన ఈ చిత్రానికి ప్రేక్షకులు బ్రహ్మరథం పడుతున్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో ప్రేక్షకులకు కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలుపుతూ చిత్ర బృందం తాజాగా హైదరాబాద్ లో ఘనంగా విజయోత్సవ వేడుకకు నిర్వహించింది.

ఈ సందర్భంగా చిత్ర దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మణ్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. ” మా సినిమాకి ప్రేక్షకుల నుంచి లభిస్తున్న ఆదరణ పట్ల చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉంది. సినిమా గురించి, సినిమాలో పాత్రల గురించి చాలా సహజంగా మన మధ్యలో జరిగినట్లు ఉందని అందరూ ప్రశంసిస్తున్నారు. విమర్శకులు కూడా అన్ని పాత్రలకు ప్రాధాన్యమిస్తూ మంచి వినోదాన్ని పంచామని ప్రశంసించడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. ఓ సాధారణ కుటుంబంలో అనుకోని సమస్య వస్తే వాళ్ళు ఎలా స్పందిస్తారు అనే దాని మీదే ఈ సినిమా చేశాం. అదే అందరికీ బాగా నచ్చింది. మా ఊరు కాకినాడ, పిఠాపురం నుంచి ఫోన్లు చేసి సినిమాలోని పాత్రలు వాళ్ల నిజ జీవితంలో చూసిన పాత్రల్లా సహజంగా ఉన్నాయని చెబుతున్నారు. మొదటి నుంచి ఈ కథని నమ్మి, మా అందరికీ కూడా అదే నమ్మకాన్ని కలిగించిన నిర్మాత నాగ వంశీ గారికి ధన్యవాదాలు. అలాగే గణేష్ కి కూడా ధన్యవాదాలు. నేను కథ చెప్పగానే నచ్చి దానిని ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్ళాడు. మా ఇద్దరికీ ఈ విజయం చాలా కీలకం. మొదటి రోజు నుంచే ప్రేక్షకుల నుంచి వచ్చిన స్పందన చూసి ఇద్దరం చాలా సంతోషపడ్డాం” అన్నారు.

వర్ష బొల్లమ్మ మాట్లాడుతూ.. ” ప్రీ రిలీజ్ ఈవెంట్ లో చెప్పాను.. మళ్ళీ చెబుతున్నాను. కొత్త వారికి అవకాశం ఇవ్వడం అనేది నాగ వంశీ గారికి చిన్న విషయం అయ్యుండొచ్చు. కానీ నాకు అది చాలా పెద్ద విషయం. ఇంతమంచి అవకాశం ఇచ్చినందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు. విడుదలకు ముందే ఈ సినిమా చూసి నవ్వుకుంటూ బయటకు వస్తారని మేం చెప్పాం. అయితే మేం ఊహించిన దానికంటే ఎక్కువగా నవ్వుకుంటూ బయటకు వస్తున్నారు. దానిని బట్టే చెప్పొచ్చు ఈ చిత్రం ఎంత పెద్ద విజయమో. దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మణ్ ని అందరూ ప్రశంసించడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. గణేష్ మొదటి సినిమాతోనే తన నటనతో మెప్పించడం ఆనందంగా ఉంది. సురేఖవాణి గారు నాకు తల్లిగా నటించారు కానీ నాకు ఆమె అక్కలా ఉన్నారు. దివ్య స్క్రీన్ పై మ్యాజిక్ క్రియేట్ చేసింది. రావు రమేష్ గారు, నరేష్ గారు, గోపరాజు రమణ గారు సినిమా విజయంలో ప్రధాన పాత్ర పోషించారు.” అన్నారు.

గణేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. ” ఈ ఆనందాన్ని మాటల్లో చెప్పలేకపోతున్నాను. మా సినిమాకి ఇంతటి ఘన విజయాన్ని అందించిన తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు ఎన్ని కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పినా సరిపోవు. నటుడిగా నన్ను ప్రేక్షకులు అంగీకరించారు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ తెర మీద గణేష్ కనిపించలేదు, బాల అనే కుర్రాడు మాత్రమే తెర మీద కనిపించాడు అన్నప్పుడు.. నటుడిగా ఓ పది మార్కులు వేయించుకున్నాను అని చిన్న తృప్తి కలిగింది. నా నుంచి నటనను రాబట్టినందుకు, నా దగ్గరకు ఈ కథను తీసుకొచ్చినందుకు లక్ష్మణ్ కి ధన్యవాదాలు. అలాగే ఈ కథను మా కంటే ఎక్కువగా నమ్మి, అన్నీ సమకూర్చి, ఇలాంటి మంచి సినిమాని ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు తీసుకొచ్చిన సితార వారికి, నాగ వంశీ గారికి జీవితాంతం ఋణపడి ఉంటాను. ఇంతమంచి విజయాన్ని అందించినందుకు అందరికీ మరోసారి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలుపుతున్నాను” అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత నాగ వంశీ మాట్లాడుతూ.. “స్వాతి ముత్యం సినిమా అన్ని వర్గాల ప్రేక్షకులను అలరిస్తోంది. మా సినిమాకి లభిస్తున్న ఆదరణ పట్ల సంతోషంగా ఉంది. చిత్ర విడుదలకు ముందు చిరంజీవి గారు పెద్ద మనసుతో మా సినిమాకి శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపారు. ఇప్పుడు స్వాతి ముత్యం, గాడ్ ఫాదర్ రెండు చిత్రాలూ విజయం సాధించడం చాలా ఆనందంగా ఉంది. స్వాతి ముత్యం చిత్రానికి రోజురోజుకీ ఆదరణ పెరుగుతోంది. ఈ వారాంతానికి వసూళ్లు మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశముంది” అన్నారు.

దివ్య శ్రీపాద మాట్లాడుతూ.. “ఈ సినిమాలో శైలజ అనే పాత్ర పోషించడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఇలాంటి పాత్రలు రావడం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను. లక్ష్మణ్ గారు పిలిచి ఈ కథ చెప్పినప్పుడే ఈ సినిమాలో భాగం కావడం చాలా ఆనందంగా అనిపించింది. సితార లాంటి పెద్ద బ్యానర్ లో, ఎందరో ప్రముఖ నటీనటులతో కలిసి నటించడం వెలకట్టలేనంత సంతోషం ఇచ్చింది. ఎన్నో విషయాలు నేర్చుకున్నాను. నాకు ఇంత మంచి అవకాశం ఇచ్చిన నాగ వంశీ గారికి, లక్ష్మణ్ గారికి ఎప్పటికీ కృతజ్ఞతగా ఉంటాను” అన్నారు.

సురేఖా వాణి మాట్లాడుతూ.. “నన్ను చాలామంది ఎక్కువ సినిమాలు ఎందుకు చేయట్లేదు, ఇలాంటి పాత్రలు ఎందుకు చేయట్లేదు అని అడుగుతున్నారు. అవకాశమొస్తే ఎందుకు చేయను. దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మణ్ మొదటిసారి నన్ను కలిసి ఈ సినిమాలో నా పాత్ర గురించి నాకు చెప్పినప్పుడు.. నిజంగానే ఈ పాత్ర కోసం మొదట నన్నే అనుకున్నారా అని అడిగాను. ఎందుకంటే ఇలాంటి పాత్రలు మా వరకూ రావట్లేదు. వస్తే తప్పకుండా చేస్తాం. నేను సినిమాలు మానేశాను అని కొందరు అనుకుంటున్నారు. నేను సినిమా అమ్మాయిని, ఎప్పుడూ సినిమాలు చేస్తూనే ఉంటాను. నాకు ఇంతమంచి పాత్ర ఇచ్చిన లక్ష్మణ్ గారికి ధన్యవాదాలు. ఇక మా అబ్బాయి గణేష్ నిజంగానే బంగారు కొండ. మొదటి సినిమానే ఇంతటి విజయం సాధించడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. అలాగే దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మణ్ గారు ఇంకా ఎన్నో ఇలాంటి మంచి సినిమాలు తీయాలని, మా లాంటి వారికి అవకాశాలు ఇవ్వాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను” అన్నారు.

Swathimuthyam, the feel-good family entertainer that hit theatres this Dasara on October 5, opened to a terrific response with glowing reviews and unanimous positive feedback from audiences alike. Ganesh, Varsha Bollamma played the lead roles in the film, written and directed by debutant Lakshman K Krishna and produced by S Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas. Commemorating its victorious run at the theatres, a success meet was held in Hyderabad earlier today, with the film’s cast and crew in attendance.

“I don’t have words to say and am speechless. I will be thankful to the Telugu audience all my life, because of the acceptance you’ve given me. All of you noticed me as Balamurali Krishna and not Ganesh in the film and that alone is a sign of victory for me. I think I’ve made progress as an actor now. It was all possible due to Lakshman’s story and the way he extracted the performance from me. More than us, it was Naga Vamsi garu who believed in the story. I will be indebted to him,” Ganesh mentioned.

“As I’d said earlier, it’s a big deal that a big banner like Sithara Entertainments is backing newcomers. I am thrilled to bits and thankful to all those who said that the film left you with a huge smile. Lakshman K Krishna is completely deserving of the applause coming our way. It’s fantastic to know that Ganesh is now accepted as an actor. Sri Divya created magic while she lasted and Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Goparaju Ramana garu are the pillars behind the success,” Varsha Bollamma added.

“All that I have is gratitude for the experience of Swathimuthyam. After noticing my performance, many wondered why I don’t take up such roles often, but have to say that I can pick roles from what I’m offered. Working with Sithara Entertainments is a memory I can’t put into words and the experience was just priceless. The script-to-big-screen transition was beautiful. I liked the confidence with which the director handled a delicate issue like sperm donation,” Sri Divya shared.

“Many thought that I’d bid goodbye to films in recent times, I’m very much here and am proud to call myself an industry kid. I thank the director and the producer for offering me a full-length character. I am always ready to take up different roles provided I’m given such opportunities. Ganesh and Varsha did complete justice to their roles. The entire team of Swathimuthyam deserves this success,” Surekha Vani stated.

“I am very glad about the response to the film, right from the day we organised a premiere show and critics were raving about our efforts. It’s fantastic that all of you have noticed our attempt to do justice to all the characters and not the leads alone. People in Kakinada, Pithapuram are owning the film and relating to the characters. It’s great to see the praises being showered upon Rao Ramesh and Goparaju Ramana garu. I am grateful to Ganesh, Vamsi garu and the team,” director Lakshman K Krishna said.

S Naga Vamsi, the producer expressed his happiness about the film’s performance at the box office and said Swathimuthyam could be enjoyed by audiences of all age groups. “Chiranjeevi garu conveyed his best wishes for the film before release and it’s wonderful that both Swathimuthyam and Godfather are performing well. It just shows he has a big heart,” he added. Pragathi Suresh, Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju and others too played important roles in the film which had an album full of chartbusters composed by Mahati Swara Sagar. Suryaa had cranked the camera.

స్వాతిముత్యం ఎలా మొదలైంది?

నేను ఓ మంచి సినిమాతో తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు పరిచయమవ్వాలని ఎదురుచూస్తున్న సమయంలో లక్ష్మణ్ ఈ కథ చెప్పారు. ఈ కథతో వస్తే తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు ఖచ్చితంగా ఆదరిస్తారని నమ్మి, ఈ కథను సితార వారి దగ్గరకు తీసుకెళ్లగా నాగ వంశీ గారికి కూడా కథ నచ్చింది. ఇది తమ బ్యానర్ లో చేస్తే మంచి సినిమా అవుతుందని భావించిన ఆయన ఎక్కడా రాజీ పడకుండా సినిమాను నిర్మించారు.

మాస్ సినిమాతో కాకుండా ఇంత క్లాస్ సినిమాతో రావడానికి కారణం?

సినిమా అంటే ఖచ్చితంగా పోరాట సన్నివేశాలు ఉండాలని నేను అనుకోను. సినిమా బాగుంటే ప్రేక్షకులు ఎలాంటి జోనర్ సినిమానైనా ఆదరిస్తారు. కథ బాగుండాలి, సినిమా బాగుండాలి అని ఆలోచించాను కానీ ప్రత్యేకంగా ఈ జోనర్ లోనే సినిమా చేయాలని మాత్రం ఎప్పుడూ అనుకోలేదు.

మొదటి సినిమా కదా మీ అన్నయ్య(బెల్లంకొండ శ్రీనివాస్) ఏమైనా సలహాలు ఇచ్చారా?

ఏం ఇవ్వలేదండి. ఇంట్లో వాళ్ళందరూ నేను చేయగలగని నమ్మారు.

మీ మొదటి సినిమాకి ఇలాంటి కథని ఎంచుకోవడానికి కారణమేంటి?

ప్రస్తుతం కథలో కొత్తదనం లేకపోతే ప్రేక్షకులు థియేటర్లకు రావడంలేదు. తర్వాత ఓటీటీలో చూడొచ్చులే అనుకుంటున్నారు. అందుకే నేను కత్తదనం ఉన్న కథ కోసం వెతుకుతుండగా.. లక్ష్మణ్ వచ్చి ఈ కథ చెప్పారు. ఈ కథలో వైవిద్యం ఉంది. ఇది ప్రేక్షకులను అలరిస్తుందని నమ్మి ఈ సినిమా చేయడం జరిగింది.

హీరోగా సెట్ లో అడుగుపెట్టడం ఎలా అనిపించింది?

సినిమా రంగం, సినిమా సెట్ నాకు కొత్త కాదు. ప్రొడక్షన్ వ్యవహారాలు చూసుకున్న అనుభవం ఉంది. మొదటి నుంచి సినిమా రంగంలోనే ఉండాలి, ఇక్కడే ఏదోకటి చేయాలని అనుకునేవాడిని. తెర వెనక ప్రొడక్షన్ వ్యవహారాలు అలవాటే గానీ కెమెరా ముందు నటించడం ఇదే మొదటిసారి. అయితే ముందే నటనలో శిక్షణ తీసుకోవడం, అన్ని విషయాల గురించి తెలుసుకోవడం వల్ల చిత్రీకరణ సమయంలో ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బంది అనిపించలేదు.

‘విక్కీ డోనార్’ చిత్రానికి, మీ చిత్రానికి పోలికలు ఉన్నాయి అంటున్నారు?

రెండు చిత్రాల కథాంశం మాత్రమే ఒకటి. ఈ రెండు చిత్రాలకు ఎలాంటి సంబంధం లేదు. సినిమా చూశాక ఆ విషయం మీకే అర్థమవుతుంది.

ఈ సినిమాలో వినోదం ఎలా ఉంటుంది?

సందర్భానుసారం వచ్చే హాస్యమే తప్ప కావాలని ఇరికించినట్లు ఎక్కడా ఉండదు. ఈ సినిమా ప్రారంభం నుంచి చివరి దాకా వినోదాన్ని పంచుతుంది. ప్రేక్షకులు చిరునవ్వుతోనే థియేటర్ల నుంచి బయటకు వస్తారు. కుటుంబమంతా కలిసి చూసేలా ఉంటుంది ఈ చిత్రం.

సీనియర్ నటీనటులతో పని చేయడం ఎలా ఉంది?

నా మొదటి సినిమాకే రావు రమేష్ గారు, నరేష్ గారు, వెన్నెల కిషోర్ గారు, గోపరాజు గారు, సుబ్బరాజు గారు, ప్రగతి గారు, సురేఖా వాణి గారు ఇలా ఎంతో ప్రతిభ, అనుభవమున్న నటీనటులతో పని చేయడం నా అదృష్టం. వారి తో కలిసి పని చేయడం వల్ల నా నటన మెరుగుపడింది.

ఈ సినిమా పట్ల మీ నాన్నగారి(బెల్లంకొండ సురేష్) అభిప్రాయమేంటి? ఆయన మిమ్మల్ని లాంచ్ చేయాలి అనుకోలేదా?

లక్ష్మణ్ వచ్చి నాకు ఈ కథ చెప్పగానే మొదట నాన్నగారికే చెప్పాను. ఆయనకు కూడా కథ బాగా నచ్చింది. నేను నా మొదటి సినిమా బయట బ్యానర్ లో చేయాలని ముందునుంచే అనుకున్నాను. ఎందుకంటే బయట బ్యానర్ లో చేయడం వల్ల కథని నమ్మి ఈ సినిమా చేస్తున్నారన్న విషయం ప్రేక్షకులకు అర్థమవుతుంది.

మీకు ఏ జోనర్ సినిమాలు ఇష్టం?

నాకు రొమాంటిక్ కామెడీ సినిమాలు చూడటం ఇష్టం. కానీ చేయడం మాత్రం అన్ని రకాల సినిమాలు చేయాలనుంది. నా మొదటి పది సినిమాలు పది విభిన్న జోనర్లు చేయాలి అనుకుంటున్నాను.

దీనికంటే ముందు ప్రారంభించిన మీ సినిమా ఆగిపోయింది కదా?

అవును పవన్ సాధినేని గారు దర్శకుడు. ఆ కథ కూడా చాలా బాగుంటుంది. అది అమెరికాలో కొన్ని రోజులు చిత్రీకరణ చేయాల్సి ఉంది. కానీ ఆ సమయంలోనే కరోనా రావడంతో అప్పుడు ఆ చిత్రాన్ని పక్కన పెట్టాల్సి వచ్చింది. ఇప్పటికైనా దర్శక నిర్మాతలు పిలిస్తే ఆ సినిమా చేయడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాను.

మీ తదుపరి సినిమా గురించి చెప్పండి?

‘నేను స్టూడెంట్’ అనే ఒక థ్రిల్లర్ మూవీ చేస్తున్నాను. ఇప్పటికే చిత్రీకరణ కూడా పూర్తయింది. మరో రెండు నెలల్లో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వస్తుంది.

‘గాడ్ ఫాదర్’, ‘ది ఘోస్ట్’ సినిమాలతోపాటు మీ చిత్రం విడుదల కావడం ఎలా ఉంది?

అలాంటి పెద్ద సినిమాలతో పాటు విడుదల కావడం కొంచెం ఆందోళనగానే ఉంది. అదే సమయంలో చిరంజీవి గారు, నాగార్జున గారి పక్కన నా పోస్టర్ చూసుకోవచ్చు అనే ఆనందం కూడా ఉంది. దసరా అనేది పెద్ద పండగ. ప్రేక్షకులకు నచ్చేలా ఉంటే ఇలాంటి పండగకు ఎన్ని సినిమాలైనా ఆదరణ పొందుతాయి. మా స్వాతిముత్యం కూడా ప్రేక్షకులను మెప్పిస్తుందని భావిస్తున్నాను.

సితార బ్యానర్ గురించి చెప్పండి?

చాలా పెద్ద బ్యానర్. మంచి విలువలున్న బ్యానర్. అందరినీ చాలా బాగా చూసుకుంటారు. అందరికీ గౌరవం ఇస్తారు.

మీ అన్నయ్యతో కలిసి నచించే అవకాశముందా?

మంచి కథ. నటనకు ప్రాధాన్యమున్న పాత్రలు లభిస్తే ఖచ్చితంగా ఇద్దరం కలిసి నటిస్తాం.

మీ డ్రీమ్ రోల్ ఏంటి?

అలా ప్రత్యేకంగా ఏం లేదు. అన్ని రకాల పాత్రలు చేయాలని ఉంది. కానీ రాజమౌళి గారి సినిమాలో నటించాలనుంది.

మీ అభిమాన హీరో ఎవరు?

వెంకటేష్ గారు. చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి నేను వెంకటేష్ గారి సినిమాలు ఎక్కువ చూసేవాడిని.

Ganesh, the scion of Bellamkonda family is all set for his maiden venture, Swathimuthyam. The actor is trained in the USA and believes that content is the only crowd puller. In Swathimuthyam, he is paired with Varsha Bollamma and the movie is slated for release this Dussehra. The family entertainer is directed by Lakshman K Krishna and has a stellar cast of Naresh, Rao Ramesh, Subbaraju, Vennela Kishore, Harshavardhan, Pammi Sai, Sapthagiri, Goparaju Ramana, Siva, among others. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, Swathumuthyam is coming to win the audience’s hearts on October 05.

Here are the excerpts from Ganesh Bellamkonda’s interaction with media.

On the journey to movie industry

I wanted to be an actor since childhood. I took it seriously in 2016 and pursued an acting course in Mumbai in 2017. Later on, I went to the US to learn the nuances of acting and started listening to movie stories from 2019. Swathimuthyam happened in 2022.

How Swathimuthyam happened?

I got to know director Lakshman Krishan through common friends, and he narrated the story of Swathimuthyam. We laughed a lot during the narration, and I took this project to Sithara Entertainments. Vamsi garu also liked this story and it got started.

Why did you choose a class film?

I believe that story drives a film rather than other elements. I don’t believe in fights and action. Movie has to be a good one and there are no other specifications to it.

With whom can you relate with this character?

The behaviour of Balamuralikrishna from Swathimuthyam is different from what I am. There is a stark contrast. There are no inspirations to the character. I just live the journey.

Any suggestions from your brother?

He always thought I could manage on my own. So nothing much came from my brother.

How Swathimuthyam is unique?

Post covid the audience preferences are sky high. They want some unique concept in all the films. So, when Lakshman told me about the USP of the film, that instantly hit me. You have to watch the film to experience it.

How was your experience during the shoot?

Movie sets are not new to me. I also oversee production in our banner. I liked the environment of shoots and movies are my first love. So grabbed the acting opportunity. Only thing that was new to me was facing a camera. I was into acting classes and I know how to act in a midshot and closeup and how to show different variations in acting. So the shoot has been a pleasant experience for me.

Is this movie related to Vicky Donor?

Both are not related. Maybe the sperm donation can be common, but everything is new. It’s just there for 10 mins and rest is a different story. So, please don’t draw any parallels.

How is the entertainment quotient in Swathimuthyam?

There is no forced comedy and it’s all situational comedy. It’s high on entertainment and it appeals to all classes.

How was the experience working with senior actors?

Happy to work with so many seniors. Acting is mutual and the conversations make acting. It helped me learn a lot working with seniors.

What was your father’s reaction?

He also fell in love with the subject. And asked me to do it.

Why were you not launched in your own banner?

I always wanted to get launched in another banner. And I got a wonderful opportunity to be launched in Sithara. They are making a lot of family entertainers. I also knew Vamshi since a long time.

How was the makeover from production to acting?

As I told, I was learning acting since a long time. I learnt dance and martial arts with my brother but couldn’t put them to use in Swathimuthyam. Maybe in forthcoming movies you can see all of them.

What are your favourite genres?

I like RomComs and want to do many genres. Even I can do action like my brother did.

Why weren’t you launched in a big budget and with big director?

I only believe in story but not budgets and directors. So, Swathimuthyam happened. I wanted to be close to all the family audience. And I don’t want to get typecast in any role. I want to be in different shades of character. My next movie is a thriller titled “Nenu Student”. It will release in a few months.

On releasing the movie along with Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna

I am happy to see my movie poster next to biggies. Dusserhra is a big festival and there is a scope for many films.

What are your interests?

I like Cinematography, direction and want to be in all the departments.

Have you watched Swathimuthyam?

We are watching this evening in a small screening with friends, family and media.

Are the situations conducive for newcomers?

Content is the king. Everyone is watching a lot across languages and genres. So, it’s a level playing field. New actors or directors have a good chance to make it big in the movie world.

On acting with your brother?

If the script demands and there is some equal scope to both of us, I would love to do a movie with my brother.

On listening to new stories

I am listening to a lot of stories. I am done with 40-50 film stories. If I like any script, it moves to my father.

Any uneasy situations during the shoot of Swathimuthyam

Situations and scenes are close to real life. I was living the moment. How to behave with different people – father, mother, and girl I just met. Though Varsha is a senior to me, she was very grounded. So there were no uneasy situations during the shoot.

How was the middle-class life saw in the film?

We were not rich from lineage. My father worked as an Asst cameraman, production manager, and we moved up. I experienced the middleclass life and love those moments. My mother also brought me in such a way that we value everything in life.

Your favourite hero

Venkatesh. I watched “Raja” countless times. Venky sir also worked in many of our productions.

సినిమాలో హీరోని మీరు డామినేట్ చేశారా? లేక మిమ్మల్ని ఆయన డామినేట్ చేశారా?

సినిమాలో పాత్రల పరంగా చూస్తే నా పాత్ర కొంచెం డామినేటింగ్ గా ఉంటుంది. గణేష్ పాత్ర చాలా అమాయకంగా ఉంటుంది. నేను పోషించిన భాగ్య లక్ష్మి పాత్ర ఒక స్కూల్ టీచర్. ఆ పాత్రకు తగ్గట్లు కొంచెం పెత్తనం చూపిస్తాను.

ఈ సినిమా ఒప్పుకోవడానికి ప్రధాన కారణం?

నిజాయితీగా చెప్పాలంటే ఇది మొదట సితార ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్స్ సినిమా అని చెప్పారు. ఆ తర్వాత కథ చెప్పారు. సితార లాంటి పెద్ద సంస్థలో అవకాశం అనగానే చేయాలనుకున్నాను. అయితే కథ విన్నాక చాలా నచ్చింది. సినిమా ఖచ్చితంగా చేయాలి అనిపించింది.

ఈ కథలో మీకు నచ్చిన అంశాలు ఏంటి?

నాకు ఇలా సహజత్వానికి దగ్గరగా ఉండే కథలు అంటే ఇష్టం. ఈ కథలో కొత్తదనం ఉంది. పాత్రలలో చాలా లోతు ఉంది. కథా కథనాలు ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంటాయి.

మీ నిజ జీవితానికి ఈ పాత్ర దగ్గరగా ఉందా?

అవును. నేను ఒక చిన్న టౌన్ నుండి వచ్చాను. అక్కడ ఎలా ఉంటుంది అంటే ఏదైనా చిన్నది జరిగినా పెద్దది చేసి మాట్లాడతారు. మన బంధువుల కుటుంబంలో ఏదైనా జరిగితే మన మాట్లాడుకుంటాం కదా.. అలా ఒక సాధారణ కుటుంబంలో జరిగే సన్నివేశాలు ఉంటాయి.

ఇందులో టీచర్ పాత్ర చేశారు కదా.. దానికోసం మీ స్కూల్ టీచర్ ని ఎవరినైనా స్పూర్తిగా తీసుకున్నారా?

మా టీచర్లు అందరికీ ముందు పెళ్ళైపోయింది(నవ్వుతూ). పాత్ర స్వభావం ఎలా ఉంటుందంటే బయట సరదాగా ఉంటాను కానీ పిల్లల ముందు మాత్రం కాస్త కఠినంగా ఉంటాను. నిజ జీవితంలో నాకు పిల్లలు అరిస్తే ఇష్టం. అలాగే నాకు నిజ జీవితంలో చాలా మంచి గురువులు దొరికారు. వాళ్ళ స్పూర్తితో సినిమాలో సహజంగా చేశాను.

విక్కీ డోనార్ చిత్రం తో స్వాతిముత్యం కు పోలిక ఏమైనా ఉందా..? చిత్రంలో ఏదైనా కొత్తగా చూపిస్తున్నారా?

కథాంశం పోలిక మాత్రమే ఒకటి. దానికి దీనికి చాలా తేడా ఉంటుంది. కథనం భిన్నంగా సాగుతుంది. ప్రేమ, వినోదంతో కూడిన కుటుంబ కథా చిత్రంగా కొత్తగా ఉంటుంది.

ఎక్కువగా యువ హీరోలతో(ఆనంద్ దేవరకొండ, గణేష్ బెల్లంకొండ) నటించడం ఎలా ఉంది?

చాలా మంది అడుగుతుంటారు. ఎక్కువగా హీరోల సోదరులతో చేస్తారు ఎందుకు అని. నేను కావాలని ఎంపిక చేసుకోలేదు. అది అలా కుదురుతుంది అంతే. ఇప్పుడు వస్తున్న యువ హీరోలు మంచి సబ్జెక్టులతో వస్తున్నారు. నన్ను తీసుకోవడానికి అది కూడా కారణమై ఉండొచ్చు.

గణేష్ కి ఇది మొదటి సినిమా కదా.. సీనియర్ గా ఏమైనా సలహాలు ఇచ్చారా?

నేను కూడా అలాగే అనుకొని సెట్ లో అడుగు పెట్టాను. కానీ వాళ్ళ కుటుంబం ముందు నుంచి సినిమా రంగంలో ఉంది కాబట్టి గణేష్ కి ముందే ఇక్కడ ఎలా ఉంటుందని అవగాహన ఉంది. అందుకే ఇది అతనికి మొదటి సినిమాలా అనిపించలేదు.

మీరు ఎక్కువగా మధ్యతరగతికి చెందిన పాత్రలే చేస్తున్నారు. మీరు ఎంచుకుంటున్నారా? లేక అలాంటి పాత్రలే వస్తున్నాయా?

అలా ఏం లేదు. నేను తెలుగులో చేసిన మొదటి సినిమా చూసీ చూడంగానే. అందులో నేను డ్రమ్మర్ గా చేశాను. నేను అన్ని పాత్రలు చేస్తాను. కానీ నన్ను ప్రేక్షకులు మధ్యతరగతి అమ్మాయిగా చూడటానికి ఇష్టపడుతున్నారు అనుకుంటా. ఈ అమ్మాయి మన పక్కింటి అమ్మాయిలా ఉందని వాళ్ళు అనుకోవడం వల్ల అలాంటి పాత్రలు నాకు ఎక్కువ పేరు తీసుకొస్తున్నాయి.

మీ డ్రీమ్ రోల్ ఏంటి?

ఈ అమ్మాయి ఇలాంటి పాత్ర కూడా చేస్తుందా అని అనుకునే లాంటి పాత్ర చేయాలని ఉంది. ప్రతినాయిక ఛాయలు ఉన్న సైకో పాత్ర దొరికితే బాగా చేయగలనని నాకు నమ్మకం ఉంది.

దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మణ్ గురించి చెప్పండి?

చిన్న టౌన్ నుంచి వచ్చిన వారిలో కాస్త అమాయకత్వం ఉంటుంది. అది ఆయనలోనూ, ఆయన రచనలోనూ కనిపిస్తుంది. ఆయన రచన నాకు చాలా నచ్చింది. ఆయనకు చాలా స్పష్టత ఉంటుంది.

టాప్ హీరోయిన్ అవ్వాలని అందరికీ ఉంటుంది.. ఆ దిశగా మీరు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారా?

ఆ ఆలోచన లేదండి. నటిగా మంచి పేరు తెచ్చుకావాలని ఉంది అంతే. కమర్షియల్ సినిమాలలోనైనా నటనా ప్రాధాన్యమున్న పాత్రలు వస్తే చేస్తాను.

సితార సంస్థ గురించి చెప్తారా?

ఆ బ్యానర్ లో పని చేయాలని అందరికీ ఉంటుంది. చిన్న పెద్ద అనే తేడా లేకుండా అందరికీ గౌరవం ఇస్తారు. మేకప్ మ్యాన్, లైట్ బాయ్ ఇలా అందరికీ వెంటనే డబ్బులు ఇస్తారు. నేను సినిమా చేయకముందే సితార గురించి గొప్పగా విన్నాను. సినిమా చేస్తున్నప్పుడు అది నిజమని అర్థమైంది. సితార లో పని చేయడం చాలా సౌకర్యంగా ఉంటుంది.

ప్రస్తుతం ఏయే భాషల్లో సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నారు?

తెలుగుతో పాటు తమింలోనూ చేస్తున్నాను. అయితే ఎక్కువగా తెలుగు సినిమాల మీదే దృష్టి పెడుతున్నాను. అలాగే అవకాశమొస్తే కన్నడతో పాటు ఇతర భాషల్లోనూ చేస్తాను.

మీ అభిమాన నటులు ఎవరు?

చాలామంది ఉన్నారు. ఇటీవల ఆర్ ఆర్ ఆర్ లో కొమురం భీముడో పాటలో ఎన్టీఆర్ గారి నటన చాలా నచ్చింది. ఆయన నటనకు నేను పెద్ద అభిమానిని.

Swathimuthyam, the family entertainer starring Ganesh and Varsha Bollamma in the lead, hits theatres on October 5. The film, written and directed by Lakshman K Krishna, is bankrolled by S Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. Ahead of its release, actress Varsha Bollamma shared her experiences of working in the film with the media.

On her character Bhagyalakshmi:

My character Bhagyalakshmi dominates Ganesh slightly in the film. While I play a firm, confident girl, there’s an innocence to Ganesh. She’s a pre-primary school teacher and like her strictness with students, she has the upper hand in the relationship too. I was initially interested in the film because it was being produced by a big banner like Sithara Entertainments, but I was equally impressed with the story later.

On using a real-life reference to play Bhagyalakshmi:

I didn’t have any real-life teacher in mind to play the part. Though I have had great teachers in the past, I didn’t have anyone as a reference for Swathimuthyam. Besides being a teacher, Bhagyalakshmi is essentially a fun-loving girl. I truly enjoy being amidst children and I don’t mind when they’re upto some frolic. It was great fun to act amidst children.

On Swathimythyam, the story:

Though we may deal with the same theme as Vicky Donor for a brief portion of the film, Swathimuthyam is a proper family entertainer and a love story. The world of this film is entirely different. I am not allowed to talk much about it now but you’ll realise it when you watch it in theatres.

I always like stories that are closer to reality and there’s a lot of depth to each of the characters in Swathimuthyam. The treatment is refreshing. I am a small-town girl myself and I know how small issues too are blown out of proportion in villages. This is a story that most families will relate to and I could understand and fall in love with this world.

On Swathimythyam’s cast:

The film is an out-and-out entertainer and the star cast says it all. Veterans like Naresh, Rao Ramesh and Goparaju Ramana add so much life to the story. This is my second film with Goparaju Ramana garu after Middle Class Melodies. He brings so much energy to the set and brings a lot of nuance to his dialogue delivery.

On Ganesh and her career choices:

Ganesh is very much aware of the ways of the industry and filmmaking in general. He was never like a newcomer on sets and came prepared. As an actress, I want to do all kinds of roles but it seems that audiences like to see me in girl-next-door characters and they became more popular in my career. I would be game for a psychotic character too, something like Riteish Deshmukh in Ek Villain.

As much as I’m looking forward to the commercial success of my films, I want to be recognised as a performer who can pull off any role. I have never regretted any of my decisions. I am ambitious and want to be known for my acting chops, but being an A-lister or not isn’t within my hands.

On director Lakshman K Krishna:

When I met the director Lakshman K Krishna first, I was reminded of Middle Class Melodies filmmaker Vinod Anantoju. Both come from small towns and exude innocence and warmth. As a filmmaker, Lakshman comes with a clear head and is a good writer. I am quite confident about the film.

On associating with Sithara Entertainments:

I don’t believe any banner will be called big just because they score commercial successes. Sithara Entertainments has a reputation because of its value system, the way they treat, respect people on set. Whenever my team is working on a film with such a banner, they’re thrilled about the work. They pay on time, and choose good stories and that has brought them this far.

On Telugu cinema and other industries:

I am quite thrilled about working in Telugu cinema. I got a lot of respect here and since my debut, the industry made me feel comfortable. I never felt like I was working here, I come to the set with a lot of joy. I have entered films with Tamil cinema and did Malayalam films too but Kannada offers haven’t come my way. My next release will be Ooru Peru Bhairavakona alongside Sundeep Kishan.

నవీన్ పొలిశెట్టి మాట్లాడుతూ.. “ఈ వేడుకకు ముఖ్య అతిథిగా రావడం చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఒకప్పుడు ఇదే శిల్పకళా వేదికలో జరిగిన వేడుకలకు పాస్ లు దొరక్క తిరిగి వెళ్లిపోయిన రోజులున్నాయి. అలాంటి నన్ను ఈరోజు ఈ వేదిక మీద అతిథిగా నిలబెట్టిన తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు హృదయపూర్వక ధన్యవాదాలు. స్వాతిముత్యం సినిమాతో తెలుగు సినీ పరిశ్రమకు పరిచయమవుతున్న బెల్లంకొండ గణేష్ కి స్వాగతం. సినిమా ట్రైలర్ చాలా బాగుంది. గణేష్ కి, వర్షకి ఈ చిత్రం మంచి విజయాన్ని అందించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను. సితార బ్యానర్ లో నాగవంశీ గారితో వచ్చే ఏడాది ‘అనగనగా ఒక రాజు’ చిత్రంతో వస్తున్నాను. నాగవంశీ గారు జాతీయ అవార్డు గెలుచుకున్న నిర్మాత. రాధాకృష్ణ గారు స్థాపించిన ఈ సంస్థను వంశీ గారు మరింత ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్తున్నారు. నచ్చేలా తీస్తే చిన్న సినిమాలకు కూడా తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు పెద్ద విజయాలను అందిస్తారు. దానికి ‘ఏజెంట్ సాయి శ్రీనివాస ఆత్రేయ’, ‘జాతి రత్నాలు’, ‘డీజే టిల్లు’ వంటి సినిమాలు ఉదాహరణ. స్వాతిముత్యం కూడా అదే స్థాయిలో విజయాన్ని సాధిస్తుందని ఆశిస్తున్నాను” అన్నారు.

చిత్ర నిర్మాత నాగవంశీ మాట్లాడుతూ.. “పిలవగానే ఈ వేడుకకు వచ్చి వినోదాన్ని పంచిన నవీన్ కి ధన్యవాదాలు. అక్టోబర్ 5న స్వాతిముత్యం సినిమా వస్తుంది. ఈ సినిమా అసలు నిరాశపరచదు. థియేటర్ కి వచ్చిన అందరికీ ఖచ్చితంగా వినోదాన్ని పంచుతుంది. మెగాస్టార్ చిరంజీవి గారు ఆయన సినిమా ఫంక్షన్ లో వర్షంలో తడుస్తూ కూడా గుర్తుపెట్టుకొని మా సినిమా గురించి మాట్లాడినందుకు ఆయనకు హృదయకపూర్వక ధన్యవాదాలు. అక్టోబర్ 5న గాడ్ ఫాదర్ తో పాటు మా సినిమాని కూడా చూసి ఆదరిస్తారని కోరుకుంటున్నాను” అన్నారు.

సిద్ధూ జొన్నలగడ్డ మాట్లాడుతూ.. ” స్వాతి ముత్యంతో హీరోగా పరిచయమవుతున్న గణేష్, మిగతా టీమ్ కి ఆల్ ది బెస్ట్. గణేష్ కి మొదటి సినిమానే చినబాబాబు గారు, త్రివిక్రమ్ గారు, వంశీ గారి గైడెన్స్ లో సితారలో చేసే అవకాశం వచ్చింది. సితార నుంచి ఈ ఏడాది ఇప్పటికే వచ్చిన డీజే టిల్లు, బీమ్లా నాయక్ సినిమాలు ఘన విజయం సాధించాయి. స్వాతిముత్యం కూడా మంచి విజయం సాధిస్తుందని ఆశిస్తున్నాను” అన్నారు.

గణేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. ” మమ్మల్ని ఆశీర్వదించడానికి వచ్చిన అందరికీ ధన్యవాదాలు. నేను తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు రావడానికి ఒక మంచి కథ రావట్లేదు అనుకుంటున్న సమయంలో లక్ష్మణ్ నా దగ్గరకు వచ్చి ఈ కథ చెప్పారు. ఈ కథ చేస్తే తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు ఖచ్చితంగా నన్ను ఆదరిస్తారు అని నమ్మి ఈ కథ సితార వారు దగ్గరకు తీసుకెళ్లడం జరిగింది. సితార వారు కూడా ఇది మంచి సినిమా అవుతుందని నమ్మి, అన్నీ సమకూర్చి, ఎక్కడా తగ్గకుండా ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఇంత మంచి కథ ఇచ్చిన లక్ష్మణ్ గారికి ధన్యవాదాలు. చినబాబు గారికి, వంశీ గారికి నేను జీవితాంతం ఋణపడి ఉంటాను. ఈ సినిమాలో హీరోయిన్ గా వర్ష కాకుండా వేరే ఎవరు ఉన్నా నాకు ఇంత సపోర్ట్ దొరికేది కాదేమో. డీఓపీ సూర్య గారు ఇది నేనేనా అని అనుకునే అంత అందంగా నన్ను చూపించారు. ఈ సినిమాకి సంగీతం అనేది ప్రధానం. మహతి స్వర సాగర్ గారు అద్భుతమైన సంగీతం అందించారు. రావు రమేష్ గారు, నరేష్ గారు, ప్రగతి గారు, వెన్నెల కిషోర్ అందరూ ఎంతగానో సపోర్ట్ చేశారు. అలాగే ఎప్పుడూ అండగా ఉండే అమ్మ, నాన్న, అన్నయ్యకు కృతఙ్ఞతలు. మా అమ్మ చూసి గర్వపడే సినిమా చేశానని అనుకుంటున్నాను. దసరా మన తెలుగు వారికి చాలా పెద్ద పండగ. దసరాకు ఎన్ని మంచి సినిమాలు వచ్చిన ఆదరిస్తారని తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు ఎన్నోసార్లు రుజువు చేశారు. అలాగే మా సినిమాని కూడా ఆదరిస్తారని నమ్ముతున్నాము. అలాగే మెగాస్టార్ చిరంజీవి గారు ఆయన సినిమా ప్రీరిలీజ్ ఈవెంట్ లో మా సినిమా గురించి మాట్లాడటం చాలా ఆనందంగా అనిపించింది. చిరంజీవి గారికి ధన్యవాదాలు” అన్నారు.

ఈ వేడుక ఆద్యంతం వినోదభరితంగా నడిచింది. స్వాతిముత్యం చిత్రంలోని ‘ డుం డుం ‘ పాటకు హీరో గణేష్, హీరోయిన్ వర్ష బొల్లమ్మతో కలిసి నవీన్ పోలిశెట్టి డ్యాన్స్ చేయడం ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలిచింది. అలాగే చిత్ర హీరో హీరోయిన్లు గణేష్, వర్ష తమదైన శైలిలో టాలీవుడ్ టాప్ హీరోల డైలాగులను చెప్పి మెప్పించారు. ఇలా ఈ వేడుక అంతా ఎంతో ఆహ్లాదకరంగా, సరదాగా సాగింది.

Ganesh: I’m sure Swathimuthyam will strike a chord with audiences this Dasara

Sithara Entertainments is joining hands with Fortune Four Cinemas to come up with a clean, feel-good family entertainer titled Swathimuthyam this Dasara. Ganesh and Varsha Bollamma play the lead roles in the film written and directed by debutant Lakshman K Krishna and produced by S Naga Vamsi.

Ahead of its worldwide release on October 5, the pre-release event was organised at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad. Apart from the cast and crew, Naveen Polishetty graced the event as the chief guest. Renowned filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, S Radha Krishna, Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Sidhu Jonnalagadda also made their presence felt.

Lakshman K Krishna, the director said, “This is my debut and also the first event where I am speaking amidst such a huge gathering. Ganesh is the reason Swathimuthyam materialised and I thank him for trusting me. Varsha did full justice to her role as Bhagyalakshmi. Rao Ramesh garu is the lifeline of the film. Pragathi Suresh, Naresh, Goparaju Ramana added strength to the lineup.”

“Despite being a newcomer, everyone supported me to the best of their abilities. S Naga Vamsi garu liked my narration and brought me on board after watching my demo. I was in school when I watched Trivikram’s Athadu and it’s an unforgettable memory. If I were to make a film, I felt it had to be of the same quality. It was wonderful to have Trivikram garu appreciate my script,” he added.

The filmmaker also thanked his co-writer Raghava Reddy, direction team, cinematographer Suryaah, composer Mahati Swara Sagar, lyricist Krishna Kanth for their contributions. He remained grateful to Chiranjeevi for a word of encouragement about Swathimuthyam.

Rao Ramesh opined that the film had all ingredients to be a box-office winner. “All characters are integral to the story in Swathimuthyam till the very end. Lakshman made the film with a lot of sincerity. I hugged him after the narration. The film is tailormade for Ganesh and I wish him a successful debut. I congratulate Naga Vamsi, China Babu for choosing such a fantastic script,” he stated.

Varsha Bollamma conveyed her gratitude to China Babu and Naga Vamsi garu for giving opportunities for newcomers to flourish and said that Lakshman was a very honest filmmaker. “He has a lot of clarity over his subject and I hope he makes it big in the industry. Ganesh’s smile is enough to draw crowds to theatres. True to the title, he’s a real Swathimuthyam and has worked hard for the film.” She thanked Naveen Polishetty, Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Sidhu for attending the pre-release event.

Naveen Polishetty mentioned that it was an honour to be the chief guest of the event and remembered days when he was a common man who couldn’t get passes to be at this venue. “I wholeheartedly welcome Ganesh to Telugu cinema. I liked Swathimuthyam’s trailer and wish a stupendous success to the film team. I’ll meet you at the theatres with a film under the same banner next year.”

“Award-winning producer S Naga Vamsi, under the vision of China Babu garu, is taking the banner forward to dizzying heights. Telugu audiences always encourage small-budget films when made well and the success of films like Agent Sai Sreenivasa Athreya, DJ Tillu are proof of the same. I hope Swathimuthyam emerges victorious at the ticket window,” the actor added.

Producer S Naga Vamsi thanked Naveen for being part of the event and expressed his confidence in Swathimuthyam. “The film will entertain audiences across all age groups. It’s a wonderful gesture from Chiranjeevi garu to convey his wishes for our film even as it was raining at his film event. I hope you’ll encourage Swathimuthyam as much as Godfather on October 5,” he shared.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda wished the best for the team of Swathimuthyam and told that Ganesh should consider himself lucky to be launched in a prestigious banner like Sithara Entertainments. “I hope Swathimuthyam continues the banner’s victorious streak after DJ Tillu and Bheemla Nayak.”

Ganesh thanked everyone who came forward to bless him ahead of Swathimuthyam’s release. The script came to him when he was on the hunt for the right script to enter films. “I am sure that my confidence in the script will pay off. I thank Sithara Entertainments for believing in us. I’ll always be indebted to China Babu garu and Naga Vamsi garu. Lakshman deserves credit for telling such a good story.”

The first-time actor called Varsha Bollamma a supportive co-star and was grateful to cinematographer Suryaah for showcasing him well on screen. He applauded the efforts of composer Mahati Swara Sagar, supporting cast including Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Pragathi Suresh and Vennela Kishore. “I’ll always be thankful for my parents and my brother for supporting me in all my endeavours. I hope I’ve done a film that’ll make them proud. I’m assured the film will resonate with audiences this Dasara even amidst the biggies.”

The pre-release event consistently kept the crowds entertained. One of the event’s major highlights was when Ganesh, Varsha and the chief guest Naveen Polishetty came together to groove to the Dum Dum Dum number on the stage. The lead pair had the crowd in raptures as they emulated the dialogues of the popular stars in Telugu cinema. On the whole, it was a happy, cheery evening bursting with young energy and enthusiasm.

స్వాతిముత్యం ఎలా ఉండబోతోంది?
ఫన్ ఫిల్డ్ ఫ్యామిలీ ఎంటర్ టైనర్. థియేటర్ నుంచి నిస్సందేహంగా నవ్వుకుంటూ బయటకు వస్తారు. అద్భుతం తీశాం, అవార్డులు వచ్చే సినిమా తీశామని చెప్పను. పండగ రోజు థియేటర్ కి వస్తే మాత్రం గ్యారంటీగా నవ్వుకునే బయటకు వస్తారు. అయితే ఇప్పటిదాకా ఎవరూ టచ్ చేయని పాయింట్ ని ఇందులో టచ్ చేశాం. ఒక కాంట్రవర్షియల్ టాపిక్ ని ఫన్ టోన్ లో చెప్పాం.

కొత్త డైరెక్టర్ కి మీరేమైనా సూచనలు చేశారా?
ఇప్పుడొస్తున్న కొత్త డైరెక్టర్లు చాలా కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా ఉంటున్నారు. లక్ష్మణ్ కూడా చాలా కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా తాను అనుకున్నది తీశాడు. మేం చిన్న చిన్న సలహాలు మాత్రమే ఇచ్చాం.

గాడ్ ఫాదర్, ఘోస్ట్ సినిమాలతో పాటు విడుదల చేస్తున్నారు. కాన్ఫిడెన్సా? ఓవర్ కాన్ఫిడెన్సా?
కాన్ఫిడెన్స్, ఓవర్ కాన్ఫిడెన్స్ అలాంటిదేం లేదండి. నేను మొన్న కూడా చెప్పాను. కోవిడ్ తర్వాత ప్రతివారం కనీసం రెండు మూడు సినిమాలు వస్తున్నాయి. పైగా దసరా సీజన్ కాబట్టి రెండు సినిమాలున్నా రిస్క్ తీసుకుంటున్నాం.

చిరంజీవి గారు మీ సినిమా గురించి కూడా ప్రస్తావిస్తూ అభినందనలు తెలిపారు కదా.. మీరెలా ఫీల్ అయ్యారు?
అందుకే ఆయన చిరంజీవి అయ్యారు. చిన్న సినిమాలను ఆదరించమని కోరతారు. చిన్న సినిమాలను అభినందిస్తారు. అందుకే ఆయన ఇండస్ట్రీ పెద్ద అయ్యారు.

ఈ టైటిల్ పెట్టడానికి కారణమేంటి? టైటిల్ పెట్టేముందు బాగా ఆలోచించారా?
హీరో క్యారెక్టర్ అమాయకంగా ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి స్వాతిముత్యం టైటిల్ సరిగ్గా సరిపోతుందని పెట్టాం. పైగా చిన్న సినిమాకి క్లాసిక్ ఫిల్మ్ టైటిల్ పెడితే మా సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులలోకి త్వరగా వెళ్తుందన్న ఉద్దేశంతో పెట్టాం. అయితే సినిమా చూశాక ఇది యాప్ట్ టైటిల్ అని అందరికీ అనిపిస్తుంది.

స్వాతిముత్యం అంటే అమాయకుడా? పిచ్చోడా?
పిచ్చోడు కాదు అమాయకుడు. ఈ జనరేషన్ లో ఉండాల్సిన వాడు కాదు. చాలా మంచోడు. శేఖర్ కమ్ముల గారి సినిమాల్లో హీరోలా ఉంటాడు.

కొంతకాలంగా ప్రేక్షకులు వైవిధ్యమైన చిత్రాలనే ఆదరిస్తున్నారు? మీ చిత్రం ఆదరణ పొందుతుంది అనుకుంటున్నారా?
బింబిసార, సీతారామం, కార్తికేయ -2 వేటికవే విభిన్న చిత్రాలు. అన్నీ ఆదరణ పొందాయి. అలాగే ఇటీవల ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ సినిమాలు పెద్దగా రాలేదు. డీజే టిల్లు తర్వాత ఇదే అనుకుంటున్నా. అలా అని కేవలం ఎంటర్టైనర్ మాత్రమే కాదు కొత్త కాన్సెప్ట్ కూడా ఉంటుంది.

వర్ష బొల్లమ్మ హీరోయిన్ గా ఎంపిక చేయడానికి కారణం?
మిడిల్ క్లాస్ మెలోడీస్ లో ఆమె నటన చూసి ఎంపిక చేశాం. దీనిలో కూడా ఒక స్మాల్ టౌన్ అమ్మాయి క్యారెక్టర్. ఆ పాత్రకి ఆమె సరిగ్గా సరిపోతుంది అని ఎంపిక చేయడం జరిగింది.

ఈ ఫిల్మ్ గణేష్ కి మంచి లాంచ్ అవుతుంది అనుకుంటున్నారా?
బెల్లంకొండ సురేష్ గారు పెద్దబ్బాయిని సమంతను హీరోయిన్ గా పెట్టి గ్రాండ్ గా లాంచ్ చేశారు. ఇది అలా కాదు. ఈ సినిమాతో మంచి కాన్సెప్ట్ తో వచ్చాడన్న పేరు వస్తుంది.

స్వాతిముత్యం నుంచి ఇక సితారలో ప్రయోగాత్మక చిత్రాలు ఆశించవచ్చా?
డీజే టిల్లు నుంచే చేశాం కదా. అన్ని రకాలు చిత్రాలు చేస్తాం. టిల్లు, వరుడు కావలెను, స్వాతిముత్యం ఇలా చిన్న చిత్రాలతో ప్రయోగాలు చేస్తున్నాం. అలాగే నెక్స్ట్ బాలకృష్ణ గారు, రవితేజ గారు, వైష్ణవ్ తేజ్, నవీన్ పోలిశెట్టి వంటి హీరోలతో పక్కా కమర్షియల్ సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నాం. అలాగే ఓ కాలేజ్ బ్యాక్ డ్రాప్ మూవీతో తారక్ గారు బావమరిదిని లాంచ్ చేస్తున్నాం.

చిరంజీవి గారితో ఎప్పుడు ఉండొచ్చు ప్రాజెక్ట్?
నేను కూడా చాలా ఎదురు చూస్తున్నాను ఆయనతో త్వరగా సినిమా చేయాలని.

మహేష్ బాబు గారి సినిమా గురించి చెప్తారా?
త్రివిక్రమ్, మహేష్ గారి కాంబినేషన్ లో వచ్చిన అతడు, ఖలేజా సినిమాలకు థియేటర్స్ లో రావాల్సినంత ఆదరణ రాలేదు. కానీ టీవీల్లో పిచ్చి పిచ్చిగా చూసి ఆ కాంబినేషన్ పై విపరీతమైన అంచనాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఏ స్థాయిలో అంచనాలు పెట్టుకొని థియేటర్ కి వచ్చినా అంతకుమించి మెప్పించేలా ఈ సినిమా ఉంటుంది.

Swathimuthyam, the family entertainer starring Ganesh, Varsha Bollamma is set to hit theatres on October 5. The film, written and directed by Lakshman K Krishna, is produced by S Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas. Ahead of the film’s release, the producer spoke to the media today.

On expectations around Swathimuthyam:

I am not saying we’ve made a classic or an out-of-the-world film. All I can say is that Swathimuthyam is an entertaining film that makes for ideal viewing this festive season. The director has come up with a unique concept, much within the family entertainer space. The film hilariously deals with sperm donation and also tells why it shouldn’t be treated as a taboo.

There’s always scope for multiple films to do well during the festive season and this risk is certainly worth it. It’s appreciable that Chiranjeevi garu had asked audiences to watch our film too – that’s the reason why he commands so much respect from one and all in the industry.

On introducing new directors and the film director Lakshman K Krishna:

Directors of this generation don’t panic and make films exactly the way they want to. Lakshman K Krishna had good command over the script and we made a few changes from our end to ensure a good result. I can guarantee that audiences will come out of the theatres with a smile.

It’s hard to judge the capability of a director when he tells a script convincingly. We’ll know his skills only once the film goes on floors. If he does a good job, as producers, we’ll be relaxed or else, we need to pull up our socks. Lakshman K Krishna came with a strong technical team – art direction, cinematography and music – and he handled the responsibility well.

Reason behind the title Swathimuthyam:

We thought using a title like Swathimuthyam revolving around a classic will get the people talking about our film and help us with the promotions. However, after watching the film, you’ll realise this is best suited for the story. The youngster in the film isn’t a fool, but he’s innocent, good-at-heart, unlike most youngsters today. The drama is about how such a guy deals with a strange problem.

A comment on the industry situation and the edge Swathimuthyam will have:

These are good times for the industry. Sita Ramam worked despite being a period romance, Bimbisara came up with a new concept and the divinity factor worked in favour of Karthikeya 2. In the middle of these heavy films, audiences need relief and as far as I know, DJ Tillu was the last proper entertainer we had. Swathimuthyam is an entertaining family film with a touch of novelty.

Despite dealing with a sensitive topic, at a point will any viewer feel embarrassed about the treatment. The ambience will be homely, innocent and something that everyone will take a liking to. We picked Varsha Bollamma after watching Middle Class Melodies. Like that film, ours too is set in a small town and I didn’t want to cast any actor who looked like a conventional heroine. This also wasn’t planned like a debut for Ganesh – we just chose an actor who was right for the story.

Alternating between big and small films:

We had picked a lot of concept-oriented films during the lockdown – that’s why you got to see a Varudu Kavalenu, DJ Tillu, Swathimuthyam or a Butta Bomma. Most of them worked well for us. Henceforth, there’ll only be huge releases and entertainers from our banner- we have biggies with Mahesh Babu, Balakrishna, Ravi Teja and films like DJ Tillu 2 and the Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju.

Audiences these days don’t care if it’s a big or a small film – what matters is the content. I am now making a college film launching NTR’s brother-in-law Nithin, Santosh Shoban and another actor. Even when I listen to a script, I only check if it is good or not and take a step ahead.

On #SSMB28 and Trivikram:

I always felt Mahesh Babu-Trivikram’s earlier collaborations like Athadu and Khaleja didn’t get their due at the theatres but audiences loved the films to bits when they watched them on television. Call it confidence or over-confidence, the film will surpass all expectations that anyone will have about it. Mahesh Babu’s character will be unlike anything that you’ve seen before.

On the plan to host premieres for Swathimuthyam ahead of release:

We are planning to organise premieres across many centres in AP and Telangana on October 4. We want the word to spread through the media that it’s a good film and it’ll help our cause the next day.
