పిండం’ చిత్రీకరణ సమయంలో వింత అనుభవాలు.. ఒక్కరే కూర్చొని ఈ సినిమా చూడలేరు: చిత్ర బృందం

సినిమా చిత్రీకరణ ఎలా జరిగిందో తెలుసుకోవాలనే ఆసక్తి ప్రేక్షకుల్లో ఉంటుంది. ముఖ్యంగా విభిన్న కథాంశంతో రూపొందే చిత్రాల పట్ల ఈ ఆసక్తి ప్రేక్షకుల్లో మరింత ఎక్కువ ఉంటుంది. అప్పట్లో మేకింగ్ వీడియో విడుదల చేసే ట్రెండ్ చిత్ర పరిశ్రమలో ఉండేది. కానీ కొన్నేళ్లుగా ఈ ట్రెండ్ తగ్గుతూ వచ్చింది. ఈమధ్య చిత్ర బృందాలు మేకింగ్ వీడియోలు విడుదల చేయడంలేదు. అయితే ఇప్పుడు ‘పిండం’ చిత్ర బృందం ఓ కొత్త ట్రెండ్ కి శ్రీకారం చుట్టింది. పిండం కథ ఎలా ఉండబోతుంది, చిత్రీకరణ ఎలా సాగింది అనే విషయాలను తెలుపుతూ ‘బిహైండ్ ది సీన్స్’ పేరుతో ఓ ప్రత్యేక వీడియోను విడుదల చేశారు.

ప్రముఖ హీరో శ్రీకాంత్ శ్రీరామ్, ఖుషీ రవి జంటగా నటిస్తున్న చిత్రం ‘పిండం‘. ‘ది స్కేరియస్ట్ ఫిల్మ్’ అనేది ఉప శీర్షిక. ఈ సినిమాతో సాయికిరణ్ దైదా దర్శకుడిగా పరిచయం అవుతున్నారు. కళాహి మీడియా బ్యానర్‌పై యశ్వంత్ దగ్గుమాటి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మిస్తున్నారు. షూటింగ్ పూర్తి చేసుకున్న ఈ చిత్రం ప్రస్తుతం నిర్మాణానంతర కార్యక్రమాలు జరుపుకుంటోంది. దీపావళి కానుకగా చిత్ర బృందం ఓ ప్రత్యేక వీడియో విడుదల చేసింది. నటీనటులు, సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు అందరూ కలిసి సినిమా ఎలా ఉండబోతుంది, చిత్రీకరణ ఎలా సాగింది అని వివరించడం ఆకట్టుకుంది. వీడియోలో మేకింగ్ కి సంబంధించిన విజువల్స్ కూడా చూపించారు.

కథానాయకుడు శ్రీకాంత్ శ్రీరామ్ మాట్లాడుతూ, “పిండం అనేది స్ట్రయిట్, క్లియర్, సీరియస్ హారర్ జానర్. మామూలుగా కొన్ని హారర్ సినిమాల్లో సాంగ్స్, కామెడీ ట్రాక్ లు ఉంటాయి. అలాంటివేం లేకుండా మిమ్మల్ని భయపెట్టడం కోసం తీసిన స్ట్రయిట్ హారర్ ఫిల్మ్ ఇది. థియేటర్లలో మీకు ఖచ్చితంగా ఓ కొత్త అనుభూతిని ఇస్తుంది.” అన్నారు.

దర్శకుడు సాయికిరణ్ దైదా మాట్లాడుతూ, “ఒక నిజ జీవిత ఘటనను తీసుకొని నేను, నా సహ రచయిత కవి సిద్ధార్థ గారు కలిసి అద్భుతమైన కథగా మలిచాము. నేను దెయ్యాలు గురించి చెప్తే భయపడే మనిషిని కాదు కానీ, ఈ కథ నన్ను కొంచెం భయపెట్టింది. చిత్రీకరణ సమయంలో మాకు కొన్ని వింత అనుభవాలు ఎదురయ్యాయి. సినిమా కోసం ఒక పాపను ఎంపిక చేస్తే వాళ్ళ అమ్మ చనిపోవడం, లైట్ మ్యాన్ కింద పడటం సహా పలు సంఘటనలు జరిగాయి. అవన్నీ గుర్తొచ్చి ఒక్కోసారి రాత్రిళ్ళు నిద్ర కూడా పట్టేది కాదు. ఒకసారి అమావాస్య అని తెలియకుండా అర్ధరాత్రి షూట్ ప్లాన్ చేశాం. షూట్ చేస్తుండగా అమావాస్య అని తెలిసి, అప్పటివరకు జరిగిన ఘటనల దృష్ట్యా అందరం బొట్లు పెట్టుకొని షూట్ చేశాం. ఈ సినిమాలో ఉన్నన్ని హారర్ బ్లాక్స్ మరే సినిమాలో ఉండవు. ఖచ్చితంగా భయపడతారు. ఒక్కరే కూర్చొని ఈ సినిమా చూడలేరు” అన్నారు.

‘పిండం‘ అనేది కంప్లీట్ హారర్ చిత్రంగా ఉండబోతుంది. ఇంతటి భయానక హారర్ చిత్రాన్ని టాలీవుడ్ ఇంతవరకూ చూడలేదని చిత్ర బృందం చెబుతోంది. పిండం కథ ప్రస్తుతం అలాగే 1990 మరియు 1930 లలో.. మూడు కాలక్రమాలలో జరిగేదిగా కనిపిస్తుంది. స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఈ చిత్రానికి హైలైట్‌గా నిలవనుంది.

Pindam team offers a peek into the making of the horror drama and shares eerie experiences during shoot

Roja Poolu, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule fame Sriram, Kushee Ravi are pairing up for a horror thriller Pindam, directed by a newcomer Saikiran Daida. Yeshwanth Daggumati of Kalaahi Media produces it. The first look, teaser and the song from the film have released to encouraging responses from audiences. Ahead of its release later this month, the makers shared interesting insights into its making with audiences.

Director Saikiran Daida on his experiences:

I was inspired to write this story based on a gruesome incident narrated by my grandma and felt the horror genre was the best way to interpret it on screen. The script took great shape with time. I and Kavi Siddartha ensured that there’s a scary block every 10 minutes and we stayed true to the genre. The screenplay developed organically.

I am someone who generally doesn’t scared easily, but after noticing a few eerie incidents on set, my perspective changed. There was some practical problem every day since we began the shoot, so much that we had to take a ‘dishti’ of the set in which we were shooting. Despite that there were multiple setbacks, but we all rose above it to make a thrilling film.

Casting child actors wasn’t easy at all, our executive producer ensured I got everything I asked for. Extracting performances from children during the nights were difficult. Easwari Rao’s dates were an issue but we still managed to shoot as per schedule. Making a horror film is a challenge technically and we had a capable team who were driven by a single vision.

Sriram on why Pindam is a true horror film:

Pindam was one of the best experiences I had on a set. The director was very clear about what he wanted and made us feel comfortable. Generally, filmmakers dilute the horror genre with a lot of unnecessary commercial elements and songs but he stayed true to the story. All of us were committed to make a film that’ll genuinely scare crowds. There was one particular scary incident where Easwari Rao garu would’ve almost lost her eye. The film will keep audiences invested in the storytelling and offer many surprises.

Srinivas Avasarala on his learning curve with team Pindam:

I said yes to Pindam after watching a short film – Smoke – that I really liked. I am always excited to work with young directors and teams. More than watching films, working with such teams provides you a new perspective to the craft. I found Pindam to be a learning curve and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity. Screenplay is always the backbone of any film and Pindam will surprise you.

Kushee Ravi on how she prepped for her role:

I was really excited about the idea of working for a horror film. I play a pregnant woman in my segment set in the 90s and I had to put on weight to look my part. For a change, I could forget my diet, eat well and be healthy while I came to the set. I had to look like a woman from a different decade who’s slightly plump. The ambience of the set was also scary and it helped me get into the mood of the film.

Kavi Siddartha on co-writing the screenplay with the director:

Pindam is a script that has beautifully evolved with time and we liberated the story for it to flourish and take interesting turns. Times may change, but the grammar of a script won’t and one must adapt to varying tastes to develop a good script. The film will offer a refreshing experience to audiences.

Meanwhile, cinematographer Satish Manoharan shared that he had good sync with the filmmaker Saikiran Daida and that the team responded to the challenges of making a horror film well. Composer Krishna Saurabh expressed confidence that the film will live up to the scariest film ever caption. Pindam will unfold across three timelines – present-day scenario besides dating back to the 1930s and 1990s.

కృష్ణ సౌరభ్ సూరంపల్లి స్వరపరిచిన “జీవ పిండం బ్రహ్మాండం” అంటూ సాగిన పాట రోమాలు నిక్కబొడుచుకునేలా ఉంది. అద్భుతమైన సంగీతంతో కృష్ణ సౌరభ్ మనల్ని పిండం ప్రపంచంలోకి తీసుకెళ్ళారు. కవి సిద్ధార్థ సాహిత్యం అందించిన ఈ గీతాన్ని అనురాగ్ కులకర్ణి ఆలపించారు. పాటలోని ప్రతి పంక్తిలో లోతైన భావం ఉంది. “మరణం చివరి చరణం కాదు.. జననమాగిపోదు”, “ఏ పాపము సోకదు అమ్మలో.. ఏ దీపము మగలదు ఆమెలో” వంటి పంక్తులలో కవి సిద్ధార్థ తన కలం బలం చూపించారు. ఇక అనురాగ్ కులకర్ణి తన గాత్రంతో పాటను మరో స్థాయికి తీసుకెళ్ళారు. మొత్తానికి ఈ పాట పిండం చిత్రంపై అంచనాలను రెట్టింపు చేసింది.

Sriram, Kushee Ravi starrer Pindam’s intense first single Jeeva Pindam launched by Anil Ravipudi

Roja Poolu, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule fame Sriram, Kushee Ravi are pairing up for a horror thriller Pindam, directed by a newcomer Saikiran Daida. Yeshwanth Daggumati of Kalaahi Media produces it. After unveiling the first look and the teaser, first single Jeeva Pindam was launched by director Anil Ravipudi today.

Krishna Saurabh Surampalli scores the music while Anurag Kulkarni crooned for Jeeva Pindam, which has lyrics by Kavi Siddartha. Jeeva Pindam offers a peek into the film’s ambience, elaborating on the emotions of a family in danger and how they need to confront many spirits to stay safe.

‘Jeeva pindam bramhandam.. Evaru chepperu thadagatha kathanam..Evaru chuseru yadhatada grahanam..Kaalam mayajalam Jeevam mahapralayam,’ the lyrics showcase tension in the film’s setting, alternating between life and death. The lead characters are stuck in tricky situation and the lyrics also discuss the significance of destiny.

Anurag Kulkarni’s intense rendition is backed by lyricist Kavi Siddartha’s deep-rooted understanding of life, spirits and destiny. The various visuals through the lyrical video only enhance the curiosity around the film’s theme. Easwari Rao, Avasarala Srinivas, Ravi Varma are also part of the lineup.

“I’m happy to launch the first single from Pindam, the song visually conveys the theme of the film. I’m sure Pindam will be the ‘scariest film ever’. I understand the tension one experiences with their debut film and wish director Saikiran and the producers the very best,” Anil Ravipudi shared.

The makers have wrapped up the shoot and the film is gearing up for a mid-November release. Pindam will unfold across three timelines – present-day scenario besides dating back to the 1930s and 1990s. It’ll be a true blue horror film with a riveting screenplay and surprise audiences, the makers exude optimism.

ఈ సందర్భంగా చిత్ర కథానాయకుడు శ్రీరామ్ మాట్లాడుతూ, “దీనికి ముందు నాలుగు సినిమాలు స్టార్ట్ చేశాం. అవన్నీ ఇంకా పూర్తి కాలేదు. కానీ రెండే నెలల్లో ఈ సినిమా పూర్తయింది. కరెక్ట్ గా మొదలై, కరెక్ట్ గా పూర్తయింది. మన మనస్సు మంచిదైతే అంతా మంచే జరుగుతుంది. ఇంత మంచి నిర్మాతలను నా జీవితంలో చూడలేదు. మా డైరెక్టర్ సాయి కిరణ్ గారు చాలా క్లారిటీ ఉన్న మనిషి. ఏం కావాలో స్పష్టంగా తెలుసు. ఈ సినిమాలో భాగం కావడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఎప్పుడు మొదలైందో, ఎప్పుడు పూర్తయిందో తెలియనంతగా షూటింగ్ సరదాగా సాగిపోయింది. ఈ సినిమాలో నటించిన ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు రియల్ సూపర్ స్టార్స్. ఒక నటుడిగా వాళ్ళ నటన చూసి నేనే ఆశ్చర్యపోయాను. నటీనటులు గానీ, సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు గానీ ఈ టీమ్ అందరితో కలిసి పని చేయడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ది స్కేరియస్ట్ ఫిల్మ్ అని చెప్పడం వల్ల భయపడి సినిమాకి రాకుండా ఉండకండి. ఏంటి మమ్మల్ని భయపడతారా అనుకొని సినిమాకి రండి. ఖచ్చితంగా సినిమా మిమ్మల్ని అలరిస్తుంది. అనవసరమైన పాటలు, రొమాన్స్, డబుల్ మీనింగ్ డైలాగులు ఉండవు. కంటెంట్ ని నమ్ముకొని తీసిన చిత్రమిది. ఇలాంటి మంచి టీమ్ గెలవాలి. ఇలాంటి మంచి సినిమాని మీరు ఆదరిస్తారని ఆశిస్తున్నాను.” అన్నారు.

ప్రముఖ రచయిత, నిర్మాత కోన వెంకట్ మాట్లాడుతూ, “సినిమా తీయడానికే భయపడుతున్న ఈ రోజుల్లో భయపెట్టే సినిమా తీశాడు సాయి. ముందుగా దానికి మెచ్చుకోవాలి. సాయి ఎంతో ప్రతిభావంతుడు. ఐటీ జాబ్ చేస్తూ, సినిమా మీద ఇష్టంతో ఇక్కడికి వచ్చాడు. 2020 లో సిద్ధు జొన్నలగడ్డ హీరోగా మా బ్యానర్ లోనే దర్శకుడిగా పరిచయం కావాల్సి ఉంది. అది అమెరికాలో చిత్రీకరణ జరుపుకోవాల్సి ఉండగా, కోవిడ్ కారణంగా వీసాలు రాలేదు. ఆ తర్వాత సిద్ధు డీజే టిల్లు తో బిజీ అయ్యాడు. ఇంతలో సాయి ఈ సినిమా చేసుకొని వస్తా అన్నాడు. ఇలాంటి ప్రతిభావంతులు పరిశ్రమకి కావాలి. అప్పుడే వైవిధ్యమైన సినిమాలు వస్తాయి. పిండం అనేది జననానికి, మరణానికి సంబంధించినది. ఈ పిండం సాయి కిరణ్ లాంటి ప్రతిభగల దర్శకుడి పుట్టుకకు కారణం అవ్వాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను. సాయి కిరణ్ టాలెంట్ త్వరలో ప్రపంచం చూడబోతుంది. ఈ సినిమా ఘన విజయం సాధించాలని కోరుకుంటూ మూవీ టీమ్ అందరికీ ఆల్ ది బెస్ట్.” అన్నారు.

ప్రముఖ రచయిత, దర్శకుడు బీవీఎస్ రవి మాట్లాడుతూ, ” హారర్ జానర్ లో సినిమా తీద్దాం అనుకోవడంతోనే నిర్మాతలు సగం విజయం సాధించారు. హారర్ సినిమాల వల్ల అన్ని విభాగాలు తమ పనితనాన్ని చూపించుకోవచ్చు. అయితే మామూలుగా హారర్ సినిమాల్లో దెయ్యంగా ఎందుకు మారింది అనేది చివరిలో ఓ రెగ్యులర్ ఫార్మాట్ లో చెప్తారు. కానీ దీనిని పిండం అనే టైటిల్ పెట్టడం వల్ల, ఇది రెగ్యులర్ హారర్ ఫిల్మ్ కాదు అనిపిస్తోంది. చావుకి, పుట్టుకకి వారధి లాంటిది ఈ కథ, వెంటనే చూడాలి అనే ఆసక్తి కలుగుతోంది. ఈ సినిమాలో ఎందరో ప్రతిభగల నటీనటులు ఉన్నారు. టీజర్ బాగుంది, నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి. ఈ సినిమా ఖచ్చితంగా విజయం సాధిస్తుందనే నమ్మకం ఉంది.” అన్నారు.

చిత్ర నిర్మాత యశ్వంత్ దగ్గుమాటి మాట్లాడుతూ, “కళాహి మీడియా బ్యానర్‌పై ఇది మా మొదటి సినిమా. చాలా రోజుల నుంచి ప్రేక్షకులకు ఓ మంచి సినిమా అందించాలని ఎంతో హోంవర్క్ చేశాము. అలాంటి వర్క్ లో నుంచి వచ్చినదే పిండం. కళాహి మీడియా బ్యానర్‌పై ఇలాంటి మంచి సినిమాలు మరిన్ని చేస్తాం. ఇక నుంచి మా బ్యానర్ పేరు వింటూనే ఉంటారు. పిండం సినిమా గురించి చెప్పాలంటే.. డైరెక్టర్ గారు ఎలాంటి సోది లేకుండా చాలా కాన్ఫిడెంట్ గా హారర్ మూవీ అంటే హారర్ మూవీ లాగా చూపించారు. సినిమా చాలా బాగా వచ్చింది. ప్రతిభగల నటీనటులు, సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు దొరకడం వల్లే సినిమాని ఇంత త్వరగా, ఇంత బాగా తీయగలిగాం.” అన్నారు.

చిత్ర దర్శకుడు సాయి కిరణ్ మాట్లాడుతూ, ” పిండం అనే కథ ఎలా మొదలైంది అంటే.. ఒకసారి మా అమ్మమ్మ ఊరిలో జరిగిన ఓ క్రూరమైన ఘటన గురించి చెప్పారు. అది నా మైండ్ లో అలాగే ఉండిపోయింది. దానిని ఎలా చెప్పాలి అని ఆలోచిస్తే.. హారర్ జానర్ చెప్తే బాగుంటుంది అనిపించింది. ఆ ఘటన చుట్టూ హారర్ జానర్ కి తగ్గట్టు కథ అల్లుకొని రాయడం జరిగింది. ఇదొక ఇంటెన్స్ హారర్ ఫిల్మ్. స్క్రీన్ ప్లే చాలా ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంటుంది. సినిమాకి పిండం అనే టైటిల్ ఎందుకు పెట్టారని చాలామంది అడుగుతున్నారు. సినిమా చూశాక ఈ కథకి ఇదే సరైన టైటిల్ అని మీరే అంటారు. పిండం అనేది నెగటివ్ టైటిల్ కాదు. మనిషి ఆరంభం, అంతం రెండూ దానితో ముడిపడి ఉంటాయి. నటీనటులు, సాంకేతిక నిపుణుల అందరి సహకారంతో ఈ సినిమా ఇంత బాగా వచ్చింది. ఈ సినిమాని చూసి ఆదరిస్తారని కోరుకుంటున్నాను.” అన్నారు.

ప్రముఖ నటుడు, దర్శకుడు అవసరాల శ్రీనివాస్ మాట్లాడుతూ, “ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ గురించి తెలిసినప్పుడు, సాయి కిరణ్ గారు చేసిన షార్ట్ ఫిల్మ్ చూశాను. చాలా నచ్చింది. అది చూసి నేను సాయి కిరణ్ గారితో వర్క్ చేయాలి అనుకున్నాను. దర్శకుడు, నిర్మాత కలిసి ఒక టీమ్ గా పనిచేస్తేనే మంచి సినిమా వస్తుంది. ఈ సినిమా విషయంలో అదే జరిగింది. కళాహి మీడియా ముందు ముందు మరిన్ని సినిమా నిర్మించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను.” అన్నారు.

చిత్ర కథానాయిక ఖుషీ రవి మాట్లాడుతూ, ” తెలుగులో సినిమా చేయడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. నన్ను నమ్మి నాకు ఈ అవకాశం ఇచ్చిన దర్శక నిర్మాతలకు ధన్యవాదాలు. శ్రీరామ్ గారు అద్భుతమైన నటుడు, మంచి మనసున్న వ్యక్తి. ఈ టీమ్ తో కలిసి పని చేయడం చాలా ఆనందంగా ఉంది.” అన్నారు.

‘ది స్కేరియస్ట్ ఫిల్మ్’ అనే ఉప శీర్షికకు తగ్గట్టుగానే ‘పిండం’ టీజర్ సాగింది. “ఇది అన్ని కుక్కల్లా లేదు. ఇదేదో వేరే జంతువులా ఉంది. దీనిని వెంటనే పూడ్చి పెట్టండి. లేదంటే ఈ ఊరికే ప్రమాదం” అంటూ ఈశ్వరీ రావు చెప్పే మాటతో టీజర్ ప్రారంభమైంది. ఈశ్వరీ రావు ఒక ఇంటిలోకి వెళ్ళి ఆత్మ ఆవహించిన అమ్మాయితో మాట్లాడుతుంది. ఆ తర్వాత “మీ కెరీర్ లో మోస్ట్ కాంప్లికేటెడ్ కేస్ ఏదైనా ఉందా?” అని అవసరాల శ్రీనివాస్ అడగగా.. “ఉంది. అది చాలా ప్రత్యేకమైనది. దానిని మాత్రం ఎప్పటికీ మర్చిపోలేను. మళ్ళీ ఎప్పుడూ ఎక్కడా అటువంటి దాని గురించి వినలేదు. అదొక అపారవంతమైన శక్తి కలిగి ఉన్న ఆత్మ కథ.” అంటూ ఈశ్వరీ రావు సమాధానం చెప్తుంది. శ్రీకాంత్ శ్రీరామ్ కుటుంబం నివసిస్తున్న ఇంట్లో అనుకోని ఘటనలు జరుగుతుంటాయి. కుటుంబ సభ్యులంతా చావు భయంతో వణికిపోతుంటారు. అసలు ఆ ఇంట్లో ఉన్న శక్తివంతమైన ఆత్మ ఎవరు? ఆ ఆత్మ కథేంటి? అనే ఉత్కంఠను రేకెత్తిస్తూ టీజర్ ని రూపొందించారు. ఇక “కళ్ళకు కనిపించే భౌతిక ప్రపంచం చాలా చిన్నది. దాని సరిహద్దులు మనకు అర్థమవుతాయి. కానీ లోపల ప్రపంచానికి సరిహద్దులు ఉండవు. అది అంత తేలికగా అర్థంకాదు.” అని ఈశ్వరీ రావు చెప్పిన మాటతో టీజర్ ను ముగించిన తీరు ఆకట్టుకుంది. అద్భుతమైన విజువల్స్, బీజీఎం తో రూపొందిన ఈ థ్రిల్లింగ్ టీజర్ సినిమాపై అంచనాలను అమాంతం పెంచేసింది.

‘పిండం‘ అనేది కంప్లీట్ హారర్ చిత్రంగా ఉండబోతుంది. ఇంతటి భయానక హారర్ చిత్రాన్ని టాలీవుడ్ ఇంతవరకూ చూడలేదని చిత్ర బృందం చెబుతోంది. పిండం కథ ప్రస్తుతం అలాగే 1990 మరియు 1930 లలో.. మూడు కాలక్రమాలలో జరిగేదిగా కనిపిస్తుంది. స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే ఈ చిత్రానికి హైలైట్‌గా నిలవనుంది.

Teaser of Pindam, horror thriller starring Sriram, Kushee Ravi, launched; team confident of delivering a hit

Roja Poolu, Okariki Okaru fame Sriram and Dia fame Kushee Ravi are coming together for Pindam, a horror thriller directed by a debutant Saikiran Daida. Yeshwanth Daggumati produces the film under Kalaahi Media. After wrapping up the shoot, the film is gearing up for a November release; the promotional campaign commenced recently, with the launch of the first look.

Ahead of the release, the makers have now launched the teaser with renewed enthusiasm. The glimpse lives up to the ‘scariest film ever’ caption, where a spirit healer recounts one of the most spooky experiences pertaining to a middle-class household in her life. The teaser does well to pique the curiosity of the viewer, with the treatment, slick visuals, haunting sound design and technical finesse.

Apart from the cast and crew, popular writers Kona Venkat, BVS Ravi, director Sree Harsha Konuganti were the chief guests at the teaser launch in Hyderabad. Here’s what they had to say at the event.

Actor Sriram : I am thankful to all the guests who’ve gathered. A genuine team put together this project and finished it within two months, we lost track of time. The producer, director are all like family, took good care of us and they were open-minded in their approach during shoot. Kushee Ravi is a method actor. The kids are the true stars of the film. Pindam is a sensible, emotional drama sans vulgarity without any forced masala elements or songs. I’m sure it’ll succeed.

Actress Kushee Ravi: Telugu is a new language for me and I’m still learning. I didn’t imagine I would be seen in a Telugu film someday. You’ve welcomed me with so much warmth through Dia. I am thankful to my producer and director for believing in me.  I was nervous but they helped me with the lines. Sriram is a very friendly actor, made me feel at ease. I am grateful to the entire team for making me feel comfortable.

Director Saikiran: The film is based on a true incident I’d heard from my grandma. It’s a cruel crime and I thought horror is the best genre to tell this story. Pindam is an apt title for the film, the word has many meanings and there’s nothing negative about it. The actors and technicians did a fine job, they were very efficient with their craft. I hope crowds encourage our effort.

Writer Kona Venkat: I was supposed to introduce Saikiran as a filmmaker with Siddu as the hero through a crime comedy. I found many talents who’ve migrated to the US – Pravin Lakkaraju, Sreejo and Sai. Saikiran looks at cinema through a new lens. I hope Pindam gives a good start to his career and also to Sriram, Kushee Ravi and others. I am keen on watching the film.

Writer B V S Ravi: Saikiran left Dallas to move here and made a quality product with a good team, it’s a huge task and he has succeeded with it. Only passion drove them. It takes conviction to make a pure genre-based film and provides an opportunity for everyone to showcase their technical finesse. The horror film has broken norms and I wish the team the very best.

Director Sree Harsha Konuganti: In Hushaaru, I’d stated how nothing is impossible when a group of four friends think of fulfilling their dream. The team of Pindam is a true example of it. I already know the story of Pindam and I hope they taste success.

Producer Yeshwanth Daggumati: This is our first production at Kalaahi Media; Pindam is a product of our passion. We’ll be making movies regularly. Pindam is a proper horror film with a gripping screenplay. Sriram is a friendly actor, we’re proud to say Srinivas Avasarala, Kushee Ravi and others are single-take performers. I thank my technicians and the film has shaped up very well.

Actor Srinivas Avasarala: I said yes to Pindam after watching a short film that I was very impressed about. I hope Kalaahi Media makes bigger movies in the times to come. The director and the producer worked together as a single team and I can sense a success. I was in awe of the cinematographer Satish within the first shot.

Actor Ravi Varma: As a character, I’ll be heard more and seen less in the film. I went into the project without expectations, it felt I was waiting all my life for this role. Every minute on the set was exciting. There is a beautiful message in this genre and I hope it reaches audiences. I am eager to watch the film on the big screen as well.

Writer Kavi Siddhartha: Pindam is a title related to nature and it’s important to look at it positively. The director has strived to present it visually and he has all the makings of a good filmmaker.

Pindam, a pathbreaking horror film, gears up for a November release; Sree Vishnu unveils the first look poster

Popular actor Sriram and Kushee Ravi are joining hands for a film titled Pindam. The film is being directed by a debutant Saikiran Daida. Yeshwanth Daggumati is bankrolling the project under Kalaahi Media. The makers have wrapped up the shoot and are working on the post-production formalities now.

The film’s title, first look poster were unveiled by Samajavaragamana star Sree Vishnu today; the latter also wished the team ahead of its release. Pindam is a true-blue horror film, staying true to the genre and will touch upon a first-of-its-kind theme, the director shares.

Pindam will unfold across three timelines – present-day scenario besides dating back to the 1930s and 1990s. The screenplay is the major highlight of the film, the makers say. I thought it would be challenging and exciting to do a film in the genre for my debut, the director opines.

Telugu audiences have consistently encouraged out of the box attempts in the past and Pindam will be a film that won’t disappoint them, the makers exude confidence. Pindam is already a rage on social media, with the caption ‘the scariest film’ ever, striking a chord with film buffs.

While the post-production work is progressing at a brisk pace, the team plans to release the teaser on October 30. Pindam is gearing up for a release in November, the producer Yeshwanth Daggumati adds.
